Rules first, automation second
A common worry from hotel owners about automated pricing: "What if the system drops my rate too low?"
It is the right question. The answer is not to avoid automation. The answer is to write the rules down first.
Before any rate moves on its own, decide:
• Floor: the lowest rate per room type you will accept, on any date. Base it on your costs and your brand position, not on fear of empty rooms.
• Ceiling: the highest rate you are comfortable with, so a demand spike does not create a price your guests will remember badly.
• Step size: how much the rate can move in one day. Small steps are easier to review.
• Exceptions: dates you want to control by hand, such as a big event or a group block.
Once these are clear, daily rate changes stop being scary. Every move stays inside a box you drew yourself.
This is how Revbot works: it adjusts your rates every day, but only within the rules your hotel sets.
Want to see what those rules look like in practice? Request a free 7-day demo at revbot.id and explore a demo hotel with realistic data.
