Two hotels, the same 70%, two different decisions
A short story, the kind we see often.
Two hotels in the same area of Bali. Both have 70% on the books for a Saturday in late November.
Hotel A's GM sees 70% and relaxes. "We're fine." No change.
Hotel B's revenue manager looks one step further. Hotel B was at 70% two weeks ago too. Nothing new has come in for that date since. Last year at this point it was higher.
Same occupancy. Opposite direction.
Hotel B doesn't cut the rate everywhere. It checks the basics first: a minimum stay was blocking 1-night bookings, and one channel had the date closed. It fixes both, adds breakfast to one rate plan, and reviews again in 4 days.
Hotel A finds out about its slow date the week before arrival, when the only tool left is a deep discount.
The lesson isn't that Hotel B is smarter. It's that Hotel B looked at pickup, not just occupancy, and looked early enough to have options.
Revbot reads pickup for every date, every day, and adjusts rates within the rules each hotel sets. Request a free 7-day demo at revbot.id.
